A band of which almost nothing is known, MOURNING PHASE recorded a handful of tracks at Eden Studios in 1971 and then promptly disappeared. Fast-forward to the early 90s, the tapes were rediscovered and sold to a collector, eventually being released under the Kissing Spell label and later in Germany by Shadoks. The music consists of a male-female duo, primarily acoustic and fairly laconic and representative of folk revival music of the early 70s, but with occasional acerbic, witty lyrics.
