This vinyl looks fantastic but let's get to the nitty gritty. This is a compilation album and what most of us care about is how many of the tracks are exclusive or rare. SJ&TDKs have a rich history of limited or exclusive singles and rare songs/covers they contributed to all manner of comps. To my chagrin, because I've worked hard to collect the original sources ;) many of these tracks were released on the previous comps Soul Time and the 2 Daptone Gold volumes, all of which are fantastic.
Essentially, there are 4 exclusive covers on this album which makes it worthwhile already. Of the 8 remaining tracks, 2 are available as 45s, only 2 were ever featured on a SJ&TDKs studio album and 2 are available on the Daptone Gold comps. For the most part you would need to accumulate a bunch of large comp. sets and scour some old digital promos to get this music.
Honestly, there is no part of her catalog that you should skip and this posthumous comp. is the icing on the cake of her brief but accomplished and legendary career. Go out and get it!

I bought this record, as a present for my mam, who is usually such a big fan of Shazza J (and the Dap Kings). But she was very dismayed, to discover, that all of the songs here are NOT originals! Because of that, she did not enjoy the record. But it is ok, as she has found another use for the record. As she now uses it kind of like a giant coaster, to put hot saucepans on.

This sounds fantastic. Excellent recordings. Awesome renditions. A must for her fans and fans of funk and motown and TSOP.
